Digital Merchandising Manager
At Blue Light Card, our mission is to support and celebrate those who serve communities with unwavering dedication - from emergency services to healthcare, defence, and education sectors. By offering exclusive benefits and discounts through partnerships with top brands, we aim to make a meaningful impact on their everyday lives.
Founded in the UK in 2008, we now have more than 6 million members globally. We launched in Australia in 2022 with the same commitment to supporting those who serve. This is an opportunity to be part of a team driving the next chapter of Blue Light Card’s journey, blending purpose with measurable commercial success.
The role:
As our Digital Merchandising Manager, you’ll own the strategy and standards behind how deals, offers and content show up across our app and website. Reporting to the Growth Marketing Lead, you’ll set the merchandising guidelines, backend tagging and reporting that make our homepage work harder - balancing commercial priorities with what's best for members.
What you’ll do:
Homepage & app experience
You’ll own the end-to-end merchandising of the homepage and key discovery surfaces across app and web, balancing commercial priority with member value
Set the priority framework for deals, brand moments and non-deal content like Shopping Cards and Member Experiences
Campaign & retail calendar activation
Work with Partnerships and Commercial to activate deals accurately and on time, aligned to retail media priorities
Build the merchandising plan against the marketing calendar and key campaigns
Merchandising standards, tagging & reporting
Define and maintain the merchandising guidelines and backend tagging structure that keep performance measurable
Own merchandising reporting and turn performance trends into real recommendations
Product collaboration
Be the merchandising voice in product roadmap conversations, flagging impacts on discovery and the member journey
Partner with Product on the CMS tooling (including Sanity) that merchandising depends on
Test & learn
Run structured tests on layout, content prioritisation and user journeys to lift engagement and conversion
Act as the voice of the member, using insight and data to shape merchandising decisions
What we’re looking for:
Solid experience in merchandising, e-commerce or trade, ideally owning a merchandising function end to end
Marketplace and/or loyalty experience preferred, but working for an individual retailer with some complexity is good too
Hands-on CMS experience (Sanity or similar) and confidence managing onsite content
Strong analytical skills - comfortable using affiliate reporting and performance data to make calls
Confidence working cross-functionally with Marketing, Partnerships, Product and Creative
What’s on offer
24 days annual leave + your birthday off, moments that matter leave & volunteer leave
$1,000 health insurance contribution + $1,000 personal development fund
Paid parental leave, an EAP, and your own Blue Light Card
Hybrid working — 3 days in our Sydney CBD office, 2 from home
If you want to own how a growing member platform shows up online - and help Australia’s essential workers make their money go further - we’d love to hear from you.
